Privacy Policy for Ardent MDS Plus

Ardent MDS Plus ("Ardent MDS", "we", "our", "us") is an educational platform for dental students preparing for competitive examinations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices available to you when you use our mobile app and related services.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information needed to provide account access, learning features, payments, and support.
1.1 Account and Profile Information
- Full name
- Mobile number
- Email address
- State, college, and academic profile details
- Authentication method (phone/email/Google)
- Profile photo (if you upload one)
1.2 Learning and Progress Information
- Course and lesson progress
- Qbank attempts, answers, and results
- Test attempts, answers, scores, and time taken
- Bookmarks and saved learning preferences
- Feature usage required for study analytics inside the app
1.3 Device and Technical Information
- Device identifier (used for session/device-limit controls)
- App usage and interaction events
- Crash and diagnostics information
- Notification token (FCM token) and notification permission status
- Operating system and app version details
- IP address and network metadata may be processed by our infrastructure providers (for security, reliability, and analytics)
1.4 Support and Communication Information
- Support ticket content you submit (title/description)
- Communication metadata when you contact support via email/WhatsApp
1.5 Payment Information
- Payments are processed through third-party payment processors (for example, Razorpay).
- We may receive transaction metadata such as order/payment identifiers, status, amount, and timestamps.
- We do not store your full card number, CVV, net-banking credentials, or UPI PIN on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate logins (phone OTP, email/password, Google sign-in)
- Provide courses, tests, qbanks, videos, and progress tracking
- Process and verify purchases and entitlements
- Send reminders, announcements, and important app notifications
- Provide customer support and resolve technical issues
- Protect content and enforce security/device usage controls
- Monitor performance, diagnose crashes, and improve product quality
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
3. Legal Basis and Consent
Depending on applicable law, we process your data based on:
- Your consent (for example, push notification permission, optional profile photo)
- Performance of a contract (providing paid and free learning services)
- Legitimate interests (service security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, product improvement)

You can withdraw certain permissions (such as notifications/camera/photos) from your device settings at any time.
4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We use trusted service providers to operate the app. These providers may process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics, Functions)
- Razorpay (payment processing and transaction verification)
- External communication/link services such as email and WhatsApp launch actions initiated by you
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only:
- With processors/service providers to run the app
- If required by law, court order, or lawful government request
- To protect rights, users, and platform security
- During business transfer events (e.g., merger/acquisition), subject to applicable law
5. Course Content Protection and Acceptable Use
All videos, notes, tests, qbanks, PDFs, and study assets in Ardent MDS Plus are protected intellectual property.
Prohibited activities include:
- Unauthorized screen capture/recording of protected material
- Illegal downloading or redistribution of premium content
- Account sharing or credential misuse
Violations may result in account restriction/suspension and, where necessary, legal action.
6. Notifications and Communication
If enabled, we may send:
- Class and study reminders
- Test and course notifications
- Important account/service updates
- Relevant educational/promotional messages about Ardent MDS Plus
You can disable push notifications from device settings. Essential account/service communications may still be sent when required.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for:
- Providing services and maintaining your account
- Fulfilling purchases and legal/accounting obligations
- Security, fraud prevention, and dispute handling
Retention periods may vary by data type and legal requirements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it, subject to technical and legal constraints.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including controlled access, platform security controls, and secure transport practices, to protect your data.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Data Processing
Our service providers (such as cloud and payment providers) may process or store data on infrastructure located in India and/or other countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protection consistent with applicable law.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request:

- Correction of inaccurate/incomplete data
- Deletion of your data/account
- Restriction or objection to certain processing
- Withdrawal of consent where processing is consent-based

Ardent MDS Plus is intended for students and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age permitted under applicable law without required guardian consent.
If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to review and delete such data where required.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted in-app, on our website, or through other appropriate channels with a revised effective date.
Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised policy.
